We are Early Childhood Educators

At Luna Academy, it’s not just about our children and the families we serve! We value the work that early childhood educators do to impact the children they teach. Do you remember your childcare providers? Now you get a chance to step into that role for our future generations.

  • Our teachers must obtain the following before and/or during initial training period:

    • Background check + FBI fingerprinting

    • Food Handler's Permit

    • CPR & First Aid Certification

    • Ongoing training in Early Childhood Education through conferences and Children's Service Society/Care About Childcare

    • CCL Pre-Service, CACFP & TOP Star Training

  • We offer flexible scheduling, paid training, discounted [or free!] childcare. We do not work weekends, holidays, or evenings. You get a free VASA membership, employer-matched 401k, and treats & occasional lunches on us. Weekly mental health services are available as well as opportunities to attend trainings and conferences throughout the year.

  • Good morning! You would come into the center, put away your things, wash hands and clock in on our classroom tablets. Your assigned children as excited to see you and after hugs and greetings you open/step in a room.

You would then follow the posted classroom schedules which include activities (story time, big body movements like yoga, art, music, dancing, summer water day, or outside play), diapers and potty time, and healthy, age-appropriate meals.

Teacher break time! You have a free hour to explore Murray, we have Murray City Park & plenty of cafes/food options in the area, or you can stay at the center to enjoy your downtime. You come back and we finish out the day with more activities, nap time, free play, and meeting your children's' social/emotional/basic needs.

Almost time to go home! We wrap up our classroom activities, making sure our kids are clean & happy as they get picked up, clean our areas (such as toy sanitizing, mopping, taking out trash, etc.), and head home to rest. See you tomorrow!

Sometimes we deal with sick children, bumps and minor injuries, challenging - yet developmentally appropriate - behaviors, or crazy days due to special occasions and holidays. But this is all part of working with children! Thank you for your dedication to early childhood education!
